Christmas in Hall in Tirol is about more than a visit to a Christmas market. When the historic façades of the Upper Town Square glow in warm light, reflections from handmade mirror glass sparkle through the medieval streets and Christmas music fills the old town, a very special time of year begins.

Against this historic backdrop, the Haller Advent Market invites you to slow down and enjoy the season: stroll through the old town, discover traditional crafts and special gifts, taste regional treats, warm up with a cup of punch or simply spend a few atmospheric hours with family and friends.

And right in the middle of it all: the Goldener Engl.

The Haller Advent Market takes place on the Upper Town Square, surrounded by the historic buildings of Hall's old town. This is what gives the market its unique character: it is not just the market itself that creates the atmosphere – the entire old town becomes a festive Christmas setting.

During Advent, a giant Advent calendar is projected onto the historic façades around the Upper Town Square. Handmade mirror-glass decorations create sparkling reflections throughout the narrow streets, catching the light during the day and creating a magical atmosphere after dark.

At the market stalls, you will find traditional crafts, special gift ideas and delicious seasonal treats. Many of the products come from local vendors, and the selection changes from day to day.

Christmas atmosphere for all ages
Music is an important part of Advent in Hall. Every evening from 6 pm, choirs and brass ensembles from Hall and the surrounding region fill the market with festive sounds and create a peaceful Christmas atmosphere.

There is also plenty to discover for families. Children can visit the petting zoo, enjoy the ice-skating rink or listen to traditional fairy tales. Throughout the Advent season, the market also offers a variety of special activities for younger and older visitors.

A highlight is the visit of St Nicholas on 6 December, when he walks through the historic streets of Hall together with shepherds and angels.

The Haller Advent Market is easy to combine with a stroll through Hall's historic old town.

From the Upper Town Square, follow the narrow streets past centuries-old buildings, hidden courtyards and beautifully decorated squares. Along the way, stop to browse in one of the local shops, warm up in a café or take a break at one of the traditional restaurants.

The old town is particularly atmospheric in the early evening. As dusk falls, the historic façades begin to glow and Hall slowly fills with the feeling of Christmas.

Stay a little longer after the Christmas market

The Goldener Engl is located right in the heart of Hall's historic old town, making it an ideal starting point for a day at the Haller Advent Market.

After strolling through the market, come in from the cold and enjoy some Tyrolean hospitality. In the Augustiner Keller, historic vaulted ceilings meet traditional Tyrolean cuisine and freshly tapped Augustiner beer.

And the next morning begins with breakfast at the Engl, featuring regional products and plenty of time for a relaxed start to the day.
